Joe Juarez

December 12, 1966 — January 26, 2021

Joe L. Juarez, 54, of Houston, TX went into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 1:05 pm after a short stance in the hospital with Covid. Family, friends and colleagues alike prayed with fervor for his health to be restored, but sadly it was not meant to be. The night prior to his passing his family gathered in his hospital room to offer messages of hope from those closest to him. Clinging on to his last breath, he was able to reciprocate and with a smile on his face, Joe flew into the arms of our Heavenly Father the following afternoon.

Joe was born on December 12, 1966, the second child of four, and he was lovingly known as his brothers’ and sisters’ protector. Smart and witty, his sarcasm would make anyone’s head turn, yet he also had a heart of gold and compassionate spirit. He was good with his hands, a mechanic by hobby with a true passion for fixing cars, a trait he inherited from his father Alfred. He would give the shirt off his back to help a person in need, something he learned from his mother Mary. If he saw a person stranded on the side of the road he would stop and help them. He was known in the family as a defender and protector. He helped so many by giving of his money or time by fixing a person’s car. He could never say no to his mother and he always enjoyed family gatherings.

On August 10, 1985, Joe married Hope Marie Hill. They were married for twenty-one years, and they had two kids, son Jonathan and daughter Jennifer. They were also blessed with four foster kids, Chris, Jonathan, Samantha and Melissa Villarreal. Joe was most proud of his children and often stated he was their biggest fan. He bragged on his son’s ability with cars and his daughter’s baking skills. He loved his grandchildren deeply and would often show his love and support in every activity they took part of: Dyhlan was his gifted child, Isabelle was an artiste, Zachary smart just like his daddy, and Cas was his little mini-me.

Joe was also a steadfast pillar in his extended family, and was constantly in touch with everyone, his mom especially. For fun, Joe loved playing pool with the APA pool league and enjoyed playing with his “Stars and Stripes” team. He had a love for gun collecting and enjoyed shooting at the Athena Gun Club range. He was also an avid music lover and his favorite singer was Elvis Presley.

Joe is survived by his parents Alfred and Mary Lopez, his sisters Cynthia Rodriguez (Ben) and Lillie Lopez (Mark Trevino) and brother Don Juarez (Zekira); his former wife Hope, and his children Jonathan (Falisha) and Jennifer (Marc Martinez). Grandchildren: Isabelle and Castiel Martinez; and Dyhlan and Zachary Juarez. Nieces and nephews: Jessica Rodriguez, Amel Heganovic, Danny and Emily Juarez; Gabriel and Gabriana Flores, stepbrother Joe Sanchez (Veronica), with their children Ashley and Jake. Special friend Michelle Garza-Martinez (and her children - Alexander, Honda and Keven), and best friend Hector Torres. He also leaves a host of colleagues and friends at Corrugated Concepts & Packaging.
